一、Project Overview
The CGEC Madagascar Headquarters stands as a landmark offshore project by China Geo-Engineering Corporation. Exemplifying contemporized minimalism, it achieves eco-contextual assimilation while complying with local building codes. This signature workplace delivers premium spatial solutions for CGEC’s Malagasy operations, simultaneously catalyzing architectural diversity in the regional urban fabric
二、Architectural design
(一) Exterior design
The architectural appearance adopts a unique design that combines curves and straight lines. The multi - layer curved glass curtain walls are matched with simple white walls. The curved parts break the regularity of traditional architecture, adding a sense of flexibility. The glass material endows the building with good light transmittance and visual transparency. The white walls strengthen the modern and minimalist style. Against the blue sky, it shows a fashionable and composed temperament, shaping a unique element of the urban skyline.
(二)Functional Layout
Ground floor: It is designed as a semi - open space, serving both as a parking area and a place for people to stay briefly. It makes rational use of space to meet the basic needs of office commuting. Meanwhile, facilities such as fences are used to ensure the order and safety of the space.
Upper - floor office area: The space enclosed by the curved glass curtain walls serves as the office area. The large - area glass ensures natural lighting indoors, which is conducive to creating a comfortable office environment and improving employees' work efficiency. Inside the regular white building blocks, the office functional areas are reasonably divided, including independent offices, open - plan office areas, conference rooms, etc., to meet the needs of diverse office scenarios.
三、 Construction & Technology Application
(一) Building material selection
For the external wall glass, high-performance energy-efficient glass is selected. It has functions such as heat insulation and ultraviolet (UV) resistance, reducing the air-conditioning energy consumption in the office area and conforming to the concept of green buildings. The walls are made of environmentally friendly and durable building materials, ensuring the stability of the building structure and its service life, while reducing the negative impact on the local environment.
(二) Construction difficulties and mitigation measures
Due to its location in Madagascar, it faces problems such as the limited local construction technology level and the long material transportation cycle. The project team planned in advance, carried out technical training for local construction workers, optimized the material procurement and transportation processes, adopted a modular construction method, and prefabricated some building components in advance, reducing the on-site construction cycle and errors and ensuring the building was completed with good quality and on schedule.
四、Project Value Proposition
(一)Enterprise level
Deliver a Proprietary Professional Workspace for China Geo-Engineering Corporation (CGEC) in Madagascar to Elevate Corporate Branding, Optimize Operational Efficiency, Enable Centralized Management & Cross-functional Collaboration, and Foster Deep-rooted Market Development.
(二) urban level
It enriches the local architectural forms, introduces advanced architectural design and construction concepts, becomes a demonstration project for urban architectural renewal and development, drives the improvement of architectural quality in the surrounding areas, and promotes technical exchanges and progress in the construction industry.
